Immersion & Teacher Training

2021 Laughing Buddha Yoga Immersion and Teacher Training

The past year has brought many changes to the practice and teaching of yoga.  In kind, our Immersion and Training for 2021 will be done in two parts to take advantage of the opportunity to work with one another virtually.

Part 1 - Developing a Personal Practice (Virtual Sessions)

Part 1 is open to anyone and everyone who wishes to study yoga more deeply than you might get just taking yoga classes.  This Immersion will be entirely virtual with live sessions running Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights twice per month over the summer.  These sessions will cover various yoga practices in depth including:  Asana/Poses and how to modify any pose or yoga class to suit your personal needs; Pranayama/Breathing Techniques and how to integrate these practices into your daily life to increase your attention and combat stress and anxiety; and various Meditation practices allowing you to choose the appropriate practice to bring mindfulness, attention, stress reduction, and other benefits to your daily life.  We will also cover the history of yoga and look into the various philosophies that have influenced and shaped the way people have practiced yoga for hundreds and perhaps thousands of years. All sessions will be held on Zoom. Each session will be recorded and can be viewed or reviewed as you like.  These recordings will be saved until April 2022.

Dates for Part 1: Evenings 5 pm-9pm EDT

May 28-30, June 11-13 & 25-27, July 9-11 & 23-25 and August 6-8 & 20-22

Part 2: Teacher Training (Live Sessions)

Completion of Part 1, the Developing a Personal Practice Immersion is required to attend Part 2. This Six-Month training will cover additional practice techniques in Asana, Pranayama and Meditation, Anatomy and Physiology, Teaching Methods and Techniques, and practice Teaching Yoga to live participants.  Attendance at all 6 weekends, completion of 25 hours of evaluated led yoga classes, completion of a research paper into an aspect of yoga dear to you personally, and passage of several exams and quizzes and a final examination as well as a teaching practicum are required to become a certified yoga teacher. Additional requirements may be assigned to comply with the necessary training hours required to register with the Yoga Alliance. These requirements will be given well in advance and participants will be given plenty of time to complete them. During the final month of training and after you will teach yoga classes/lessons adding up to at least 5 hours and will document and self-evaluate your teaching skills. This is in addition to the practice teaching done during the weekends.

Students who complete a verified training with this school may be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs).
